Every day I walk past this pond, but in October...I pause. |
Scout wags her tail impatiently, unable to understand the delay.
I hear that dogs are colorblind. Mine is certainly well camouflaged.
|
But even dogs must feel the warmth that glows from the trees. |
Our woods are a cathedral to the seasons. |

Words don't describe it all. So beautiful and serene.
I loved the first line of your post. Walking past a place is not the same as pausing. Judging by your beautiful photos, I know I would, too.
Greetings from London.
What a glorious sight that must be! Autumn color is one of the things I miss the most about living in the Midwest. Florida mainly changes to different shades of green with some brown thrown in for good measure.
Judging from your photo, the pond's surroundings must be beautiful at this time of year. I like the soft light penetrating and highlighting the colourful leaves.
So stunning! I can see why you pause in October! Those woods are absolutely beautiful.
You are so very fortunate to see this when you want.
You have such beauty and serenity so I suppose you certainly don't want to live in some other place. The last photo reminds me of beautiful stained glass windows in Catholic churches.
So beautiful! You are indeed blessed to be surrounded by such beauty. Scout has become quite a lovely lady. Sophie enjoys walking in the woods, too, which unfortunately we do far too infrequently. She's learned that I often stop to look at a leaf or pull out my camera. She's willing to pause with me, as long as I stop for her when she finds a delicious new scent:)
Beautiful shots! I wish we had change of seasons here- but I can enjoy it via your post! Scout is all grown up!!!
The pond, the pond! The leaves! I live where fall is faint, so let me soak up the beauty of your neighborhood. Thank you for sharing these gorgeous photos.
Gorgeous! How fortunate you are to live by those beautiful woods!
How beautiful! You are certainly in a perfect location for fall foliage! Thanks for sharing with your readers.
What beautiful scenes, Sarah. And its looks like Scout is growing up...:)
a cathedral indeed. i envy your daily walking route as it is stunning. and scout truly does disappear into the dry needle bedded background.
Gosh, I would pause too Sarah. What a beautiful photograph and how quickly it seems Scout has grown so big!
